Tempe, AZ December 30, 2002 Software companies Kewill Systems and SMC3 are partnering to offer companies a single solution to manage compliance for both parcel and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments.

Kewill has embedded SMC3's RateWare within its multi-carrier transportation management software, Clippership, to expand its existing LTL rating support and to provide support for parcel and LTL shipments.

Clippership is a PC-based multi-carrier transportation solution that manages carrier compliance for LTLs and major parcel carriers, including FedEx, UPS, US Postal Service, Airborne, BAX Global and DHL. Clippership version 8.0.00 is now available and supports the enhanced LTL functionality.

Users of the upgraded solution will see a simplified process for updating motor carrier tariff information, the ability to define various discounting methods for LTL carriers and the capability to optimize LTL shipments on the fly or during the end-of-day close to obtain the best rates.

"The addition of SMC3's standard LTL rating functionality within Kewill's & parcel-carrier transportation management system will & reduce the complexities of both parcel and less-than-truckload rating for shippers, distributors and logistics service providers," said Bill Owen, president of Kewill.

Version 8.0 of Clippership also supports the UPS and FedEx January 6, 2003, rate changes and compliance for the new UPS package processing requirements for U.S. domestic hazardous materials shipments. The solution is certified to support new PLD 7 functionality with UPS.
