Riverview, Fla.—Sept. 24, 2013—BlueGrace Group, the parent company of BlueGrace Logistics, announced that it acquired United States Transportation Consultants (USTC) of Baltimore, Md., one of the nation’s oldest and most trusted shipping and transportation companies.
BlueGrace plans to leverage multiple synergies, yet without a loss of jobs in Baltimore. In fact, the company plans to hire 38 people at its Tampa headquarters over the next four months due to the acquisition, and rapid growth and expansion of the franchise system.
“Acquiring USTC, which has a tremendous, long-standing reputation in the shipping and transportation industry, is a big step in the next phase of our company’s growth. This allows us to increase corporate support and expand resources for our customers and franchises,” said Bobby Harris, president and CEO of BlueGrace Logistics.
BlueGrace Logistics was recently named the nation’s fastest growing, privately held company in the transportation and shipping industry. Prior to the acquisition, the company had reported a current count of 145 employees to its roster. In addition to the acquisition, the company announced that it would officially release its latest technology, the BlueShip 3.0 Transportation Management System, on September 30.
Driven by increasing demand for third-party shipping providers, BlueGrace opened 34 locations since launching its franchise program in 2011 and company development plans call for an additional 32 locations to open through the end of next year.
