Boating supply retailer deploys Voxware voice-driven logistics solution in Md. DC

Lawrenceville, NJ May 31, 2006 Boating supply retailer West Marine has tapped voice-driven logistics specialist Voxware to provide a solution to voice-enable distribution center workers at the company's Hagerstown, Md., location.

West Marine has nearly 400 West Marine stores in 38 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. The company's catalog and Internet channels offer approximately 50,000 products.

Voxware said that since its VoiceLogistics Express is based on natural speech, it has a favorable impact on worker acceptance and helps reduce training times. "To a seasonal business like West Marine with up to 30 percent of its workforce being temporary these factors are important in getting employees fully trained and productive as quickly and efficiently as possible," said Voxware CEO Tom Drury.

Drury added that the flexibility of Voice Logistics Express enabled Voxware to easily add mobile printers that West Marine needed in order to support downstream logistics.

"Knowing how important flexibility, productivity and high levels of customer service are to their business, we are pleased that Voxware's rigorous customer requirements process and streamlined implementation are helping West Marine to fully leverage the advantages of our voice solutions," Drury said.

"We pride ourselves on our ability to thoroughly understand our customers' needs and develop solutions that not only are readily implemented, but closely meet customers' specific requirements," Drury concluded.
