Consumer and building products supplier to use RedPrairie to optimize transportation processes
Waukesha, WI — August 19, 2005 — With the goal of increasing internal collaboration and maximizing Georgia-Pacific Corp.'s transportation network, company supply chain leaders have chosen RedPrairie's DLx Transportation Management Solution (TMS).
Georgia-Pacific Chief Information Officer, James Dallas, said, "This was a large-scale technology consolidation project; we looked across our organization for successful technology partnerships. Over the past nine years, RedPrairie has partnered with our Consumer Products division."
He added that flexibility and scalability were must haves for Georgia-Pacific as it chose a technology partner for mission-critical TMS applications.
Georgia-Pacific decided to use RedPrairie's transportation management suite to achieve labor and operational efficiencies, including: improved freight consolidation, optimized carrier assignments and load planning.
Georgia-Pacific's goal is to stay competitive in the market by reducing costs to customers, improving service delivery time and cutting operational costs, Dallas said.
As the third largest shipper in North America, Georgia-Pacific's large freight volume and dynamic order flow create challenging transportation scenarios. RedPrairie's continuous planning and execution engine, COPLEX, is suited to handle Georgia-Pacific's dynamic real-time delivery needs.
"Georgia-Pacific enjoys a unique synergy with RedPrairie," commented Dallas. "Our teams are both innovative, the people from both companies are excited about making each project work and we communicate closely with each other at all organizational levels. This is what has made our partnership so successful and positive over the years."
Said RedPrairie Company Leader John Jazwiec: "RedPrairie is a proud, long-term solutions provider to Georgia-Pacific. We are extremely honored and excited to support their remarkable and visionary IT/transportation initiatives, and we continue to look for new ways to build Georgia-Pacific's business through supply chain excellence."
Georgia-Pacific uses all of RedPrairie integrated solutions, including warehouse management, transportation management, workforce performance management and radio frequency identification (RFID) applications.
