Pringle of Scotland using Freeborders product lifecycle management solutions to improve time-to-market
San Francisco — January 9, 2004 — U.K. luxury fashion maven Pringle of Scotland is set to use a product lifecycle management (PLM) from Freeborders to accelerate the process of getting its products to market.
Privately held Pringle, once known for its knitwear but now positioning itself as a luxury goods brand, is looking to Freeborders Product Development solution to shorten product development by facilitating accurate and instant product information sharing with its supply chain partners worldwide.
"As Pringle expands its luxury brand offer, which is now sold around the world, we have to find ways to expedite the delivery of our products to market," said Allan Thompson, information technology director at Pringle. "Improving visibility in our supply chain using Freeborders Product Development solution and services will be a driving force in achieving this strategy."
The company, a supplier to the royal family and such celebrities as football (sorry, soccer) heartthrob David Beckham, tapped Freeborders for its experience in helping brands and retailers to increase profits as they improve product processes, according to the solution provider.
Pringle's brand has been known for its cashmere collection, but now, with a newly launched accessories range, Freeborders says that Pringle will benefit from the solution provider's ability to help manufacturers realize faster product development cycle times, better inventory management and improved supplier collaboration.
