Material handling specialist adopts supply chain execution solution to optimize inventory management, streamline warehouse efficiencies
Eden Prairie, MN — January 22, 2004 — Material handling specialist Storage Equipment has implemented a supply chain execution (SCE) solution from HighJump Software in a bid to heighten inventory management capabilities and achieve visibility to order-fulfillment status throughout its supply chain processes.
Minneapolis-based Storage Equipment designs, furnishes and installs material handling and storage equipment. The company required SCE functionality to optimize its manufacturing and distribution operations.
According to HighJump, its Supply Chain Advantage solution is providing Storage Equipment with a systematic approach to prioritizing orders within the warehouse by automating all aspects of the fulfillment process. Now all order status information is updated in real time and can be accessed centrally to provide customer service representatives with the data they require for customer inquiries.
"We fully expect a 25 percent increase in productivity with our ability to optimize all tasks and achieve greater visibility into operations," said Mike Dubbs, CEO of Storage Equipment. "This visibility is helping us go to the next level in terms of customer satisfaction. Now we're able to detect and eliminate potentially costly errors. From a cash flow basis, the system paid for itself the day it was turned on. It's a huge win for us, both internally and externally."
"Because Storage Equipment must effectively manage both standard and custom-designed units, they must incorporate a high level of unique processing in their business, which the HighJump system easily supports," said Chris Heim, president and CEO of HighJump Software. "They're already achieving remarkable efficiencies."
HighJump Software, recently acquired by 3M, said it has gone through more than 700 implementations of its solutions in a variety of business environments.
