Cisco said deal would enable it to enter new vertical markets such as warehousing and distribution
Atlanta February 19, 2004 LXE Inc., a manufacturer of rugged wireless computers for the improved performance of supply chain execution applications, announced today it has signed a solutions technology integrator (STI) agreement with Cisco Systems Inc.
Cisco's STI partners are manufacturers and technology solutions providers that sell, service and support integrated hardware, software and service offerings to end-users.
These offerings contain specified Cisco technologies as a critical component.
According to Edison Peres, vice president of Advanced Technologies, Worldwide Channels at Cisco, the new go-to-market channel model will help Cisco enter new vertical markets such as warehousing and distribution and other advanced technology markets that the company traditionally has not focused on.
"The STI agreement recognizes Cisco channel partners, like LXE, who have the ability to sell integrated solutions," he added. "Forging these relationships will help accelerate the adoption of Cisco advanced technologies in key vertical markets."
LXE said it has supported Cisco's Aironet technology across its entire 802.11b wireless product line, including LXE's wireless rugged computers and backbone products, since June 2001.
"LXE's products are used in high roaming, industrial environments, and the radio performance of the Cisco Aironet Series in these environments has been outstanding," said Hank Stephens, LXE product manager. "Also, Cisco's advanced security features provide the degree of security that our customers want for their wireless networks."
LXE is also Cisco Wireless LAN Specialization certified. With this certification, Cisco recognizes LXE for its ability to plan, design, implement and support Cisco end-to-end Aironet wireless LAN solutions.
