B2B connectivity specialist looks to expand joint sales, marketing efforts with Big Blue
Las Vegas — March 1, 2004 — B2B connectivity specialist Viacore has announced its membership in IBM's Value Advantage Plus (VAP) incentive program, which Viacore says will enable it to expand joint sales and marketing efforts with IBM to target customers looking to deploy B2B hubs to connect with their business partners.
As part of IBM's Value Advantage initiative to incent value-added sales and services to small and medium business (SMB) customers, the VAP incentive program rewards qualified business partners with value-based discounts for selling their applications and services built or certified to run on specific IBM software, such as DB2 Universal Database, WebSphere, Lotus and Tivoli.
Viacore is offering its BusinessTone B2B hub deployment solution for IBM's WebSphere Business Integration Connect software.
"BusinessTone, combined with WebSphere Business Integration Connect, delivers a comprehensive B2B hub deployment solution," said Chris Lorenz, director of business analysis and alliances at Viacore. "The joint Viacore and IBM offering enables companies to deploy scaleable, real-time, integrated hubs in as few as 90 days. IBM's Value Advantage Plus partner program will enhance Viacore's incentive to collaborate with IBM on comprehensive B2B hub deployment opportunities."
In August 2003, Viacore announced that IBM would partner to deliver turnkey WebSphere B2B hubs. Viacore says that the relationship between itself and IBM addresses many of the B2B integration obstacles that have hampered community builders to date by aligning Viacore's expertise in B2B deployment solutions with IBM's expertise in integration software.
Viacore argues that the highly complex nature of integrating, scaling and managing a B2B hub requires a solution that ensures and combines the operational capabilities of the hub builder, the readiness of the trading partners and the sustained quality and stability of the integration between them. The combination of BusinessTone and WebSphere Business Integration Connect, the provider suggests, can help reduce the time to "onboard" a partner from months to days, cut costs of enabling and managing a process between two partners by 60 to 70 percent, and reduce the overall B2B integration total cost of ownership by more than 50 percent.
