Dairy cooperative turns to Business Objects to build platform for future performance efforts
San Jose, CA — April 30, 2004 — Land O'Lakes is set to deploy a business intelligence solution from Business Objects in a bid to increase operational efficiencies across the company and to lay the foundation for future performance management initiatives.
The company, a national, farmer-owned food and agricultural cooperative with annual sales of more than $6 billion, will deploy BusinessObjects Enterprise 6 as its business intelligence standard. In addition, the Dairy Foods Group at Land O'Lakes purchased BusinessObjects Product and Service Intelligence, Customer Intelligence and Performance Manager.
By choosing Business Objects as its enterprise solution, Land O'Lakes is looking to increase operational efficiencies across the company and lay the foundation for future enterprise performance management initiatives at the company. Business Objects said that this standardization will benefit Land O'Lakes as the company will now able to leverage one business intelligence system to generate information across the enterprise.
"By reducing the number of BI tools in its organization, Land O'Lakes achieves greater cost savings, more control of information and better alignment with its business users," suggested Dave Kellogg, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Business Objects. "With analytics from Business Objects, Land O'Lakes has the ability to gain a complete understanding of customers and products. By identifying and retaining the right customers, Land O'Lakes maximizes the lifetime value of that customer by keeping them happy and identifying product and promotional campaigns that work."
