Santa Barbara, CA — August 11, 2004 — Enterprise solution provider Exact Software has released the latest version of its material requirements planning (MRP II) software solution, adding new features for blanket and contract orders, variable shipping weights and parallel costed bill-of-materials (BOM) reports, among other upgrades.
Exact's Alliance/MFG software, targeted at small to mid-sized manufacturers, offers capacity requirements planning, shop floor control and graphical bill of materials in a Microsoft SQL or Access environment. Exact also offers industry-specific solutions for the rental, credit management and field service industries.
Version 6.5 of Alliance/MFG now includes the Custom Report Utility (CRU) and Executive Information System (EIS) at no additional charge with an annual maintenance contract. Additionally, Alliance/MFG Version 6.5 includes a restructured registration file designed to help simplify implementation.

- Variable Shipping Weights "Catch Weights" allow customers to order and ship in one unit of measure (boxes) and invoice in another (price per pound).
- Parallel Costed BOM Report - Adds the capability to calculate the total value of a cost type (material, labor, burden, etc.) at the finished goods level.
- Sales Orders by Customer - Redesigned the queries and reported data results based on requested enhancements.
