Companies to jointly offer technology throughout global locations
Columbus, OH — December 15, 2004 — Supply chain management (SCM) provider Exel today said that it has formalized a five-year agreement with supply chain technology solutions provider RedPrairie. While the two companies have been working together on various projects for more than 20 years, this agreement provides a structured framework for RedPrairie to supply its technology to Exel for wider deployment throughout the world.
Additionally, Exel said the deal solidifies its strategy to jointly develop solutions with RedPrairie.
Exel said the availability of RedPrairie's technology portfolio provides its customers with access to inventory control, tracking and tracing, and warehouse and labor management technologies. Also as part of the agreement, Exel's regional teams may implement RedPrairie technology at customer sites it does not operate, allowing for a consistent solution across an entire network.
John Jazwiec, RedPrairie company leader, said, We realize that technology integration issues are becoming more critical than ever for supply chain providers. As Exel continues to serve companies throughout the world, we are committed to providing solutions that create value through increased supply chain speed, managed metrics and improved customer profitability.
Exel will maintain its role on RedPrairie's strategic and customer advisory boards, assisting in the advancement of existing technologies and the creation of new ones. Additionally, Exel associates worldwide will continue to be fully trained on implementation and operation of the technology.
Exel's existing portfolio of technology partners will continue to support the company's supply chain solutions, such as global multi-mode visibility, transportation management, and sector specific materials management.
