U.K.'s Oxley's implementing Geac enterprise resource planning solution to "revolutionize" its operations

Markham, Ontario — October 30, 2003 — U.K. manufacturer Oxley's Furniture Co. has signed a $51,000 deal for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from solution provider Geac as the company moves to revolutionize its operations and lay a foundation for rapid growth.

Oxley's Furniture Co., based in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, is a manufacturer of hand crafted, made-to-order furniture. It has a well-developed customer network in the United Kingdom and Europe, including one of the world's premier department stores, Harrods.

The manufacturer is seeking to use Geac's StreamLine ERP software as a platform to support its plans for rapid growth. Geac said that the system would assist Oxley's in all aspects of its business including manufacturing, customer management, order fulfillment and financial operations.

Using Geac's pre-configured implementation approach, Oxley's is planning to go live with StreamLine in early 2004. The contract also includes the implementation of a Microsoft Exchange network by Geac.

"We have chosen StreamLine to revolutionize the way we do things," said Nick Powell, Oxley's creative director. "It will help us to reduce administrative man hours, improve accuracy and increase our ability to analyze the business. Using the new software will drive the company forward to meet our ambitious growth plans over the next five to 10 years."

Geac said its StreamLine ERP suite was designed using Microsoft tools and technology to help small and midsize businesses improve the supply chain with their customers and suppliers. Key elements of StreamLine include sales order processing, invoicing, procurement and job costing, as well as an e-commerce module.

Other StreamLine customers in the furniture and make to order industries include Screen Solutions, DAMS International and Verco Office Furniture.
