Vertex, Pitney Bowes collaborate and release warehouse mgmt solution

FAIRFIELD, NEW JERSEY  January 29, 2002  Vertex Interactive, Inc., a provider of supply chain fulfillment technologies, today announced the release of eWMS v3.5.1, its JAVA architected warehouse management solution. eWMS v3.5.1 is made available through Vertex's direct sales channel and strategic partner, Pitney Bowes Distribution Solutions (PBDS), through the PBDS brand (PB_WMS). eWMS v3.5.1 is the first release that incorporates the participation of Steve Smith, President PBDS, as member of the Vertex Product Executive Advisory Committee.


eWMS v3.5.1 functionality benefits several industries including Third Party Logistics (3PL). eWMS is designed to support the on-going needs of 3PL companies with multi-owner, multi-warehouse capability, a robust billing module, and flexible invoice generation. eWMS v3.5.1 has enhanced billing capabilities with the addition of multiple, split-month billing options. Additional functionality provided in v3.5.1 includes increased lot traceability and business processes that require distribution by lot number/pallet ID, which will equip Vertex's customers with even greater capabilities when managing logistics services in industries that require a higher level of lot/pallet control. Other major features enhanced by v3.5.1 are: added "canned" reporting and label application capabilities, and the availability of eWMS on Microsoft SQL Server.
