SAN FRANCISCO/PRNewswire -- AlphaDog Procurement Management today named Karla E. Usalis senior vice president of industry partnerships, making her responsible for managing AlphaDog's supplier relationships. Usalis has a diverse background in sourcing -- developing strategic alliances with suppliers to ultimately reduce expenditures on goods and services.
According to Jeff Helfer, AlphaDog's co-founder and CEO, elevating Usalis to AlphaDog's executive team signals the extreme importance AlphaDog places on its supplier relationships. "At AlphaDog, our business revolves around our ability to deliver tangible savings of 20 percent or more to customers through strategic sourcing. Because procurement is our core strength, businesses trust us to oversee it for them," said Helfer. "Karla is a recognized industry expert in sourcing who brings a major competitive advantage to AlphaDog, and to our customers."
Usalis was recently with Mitchell Madison Group (MMG), a sourcing consultancy now owned by MarchFIRST. At MMG, Usalis led sourcing engagements for financial institutions, developed e-commerce strategies, and worked with companies to restructure operations. Her cumulative sourcing analysis experience exceeds $200 million, yielding savings of more than 20 percent, or $40 million. Usalis also was an equity analyst at Salomon Brothers in New York, and prior to that a financial controller, where she drafted annual budgets and forecasts and monitored expenses.
"AlphaDog is unique in that it offers expert sourcing, best-practices reporting, transaction settlement, and web-based automation. No other provider, to date, has assembled such a comprehensive, best-in-class package," said Usalis.
Usalis holds an MBA degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College and a BA degree in Political Economy from Princeton University.
