SAN DIEGO -- Sept. 6,2000 -- Peregrine Systems, a provider of infrastructure management software and e-infrastructure solutions, announced an alliance with PurchasingCenter.com, an online marketplace for MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) goods, that will allow users of Peregrine's Get.Resources! open e-procurement application to buy MRO products directly from within the application.
Under the alliance, the companies will combine the Get.Resources! workflow engine and asset management system with PurchasingCenter.com's purchasing process for MRO products.
Through PurchasingCenter.com, Get.Resources! customers will be able to access an e-catalog of industrial supply products from leading MRO manufacturers. PurchasingCenter.com offers GetResources! customers consolidated invoicing, summary reporting, procurement workflow management, shipment tracking and a community page with industry news and advice from industry peers. Get.Resources! users will also be able to manage their MRO e-procurement through the software.
The alliance will help customers lower the total cost of procuring MRO products by streamlining and integrating steps in the purchasing process and by providing for electronic document handling and control over maverick buying, according to the two companies.
