ATLANTA December 19, 2000 It was only last week that Omnexus announced DSM, PolyOne, Solvay and Resinex as Leadership Suppliers and equity stakeholders. Now, two more companies can be added to the list, international plastics and chemical trading and distribution company, The Biesterfeld Group, and Clariant, a fine and specialty chemical company.
Germany-based Biesterfield Group will bring to Omnexus' plastics e-marketplace a broad range of thermoplastics as well as additives and compounds. Biesterfeld's expansive product offering in plastics and its global client base makes it a perfect fit for Omnexus, said Rene Mueller, European vice president of supplier relations for Omnexus.
In addition to The Biesterfeld Group, Omnexus signed on Clariant in an attempt to extend its breadth of plastics supplies to include polymers, additives, services, equipment and distribution systems. Clariant's products and services are based on specialty chemicals that can enhance plastic processing and end-products. Adding their wide-spectrum of color and additive concentrates to Omnexus will improve our product offerings and user options, Mueller added.
Clariant and The Biesterfeld Group join founding companies BASF, Bayer, Dow, DuPont and Ticona/Celanese as Leadership Suppliers and equity stakeholders.
