MILWAUKEE PRNewswire January 4, 2001 B2B e-procurement fever is spreading, and now the staffing industry has caught on. That's right, now you can e-procure your workforce. Manpower, Inc., a staffing and workforce management solutions provider, is touting it's new e-commerce distinction as an Ariba Ready company. This means that the staffing firm has developed, tested and validated an effective job order management solution that is integrated to the Ariba Commerce Services Network.
Manpower's approach links UltraSource, its proprietary Web-based order management tool, to the Ariba CSN by utilizing an integration technique know as punchout. By using a six-step workflow, UltraSource manages an order process from initial request through candidate submission and approval, including order distribution to any number of staffing suppliers.
We have taken the e-procurement process for staffing to a higher level, said Tammy Johns, vice president for global accounts at Manpower. Through our punchout process, Manpower and Ariba customers have a seamless, customized interface to directly update, change and view the status of their online staffing transactions in a real-time, cost-effective manner.
The CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) is the first Manpower customer to utilize Manpower's Ultrasource with Ariba's platform. We are very pleased with Manpower's latest e-commerce initiative, said Molly Pellecchia, vice president of CIBC, strategic sourcing. The ability to procure online staffing services from an industry leader helps us better manage our staffing expenditures and operate our businesses more effectively and efficiently. CIBC plans to implement Manpower's e-commerce solution in one of its divisions and roll it out to all of its worldwide operations.
