February 26, 2001 -- Clarus Corporation, a B2B e-commerce software provider, recently announced a new strategic partnership with Qarta, a software systems integrator and reseller in Mexico. Under the terms of the agreement, Qarta will promote, sell and support Clarus eCommerce solutions within the Mexican market, including Clarus eProcurement, the flagship global procurement solution.
Qarta, a division of the systems integration and reseller firm Grupo Scanda, is a strategic Microsoft partner in Mexico. This was important to Clarus, since Clarus eMarket was recently named Microsoft's Global eCommerce Solution of the Year. Also, Mexico is a Latin American market leader with its advanced technologies and gross national product, and has been identified by Clarus as key to its global expansion plans.
"As one of the three largest markets for B2B e-commerce in Latin America, Mexico offers significant growth opportunities for the Qarta/Clarus team," said Hector Padilla, general manager for Qarta. "Combining the bilingual, multi-currency capabilities of Clarus products with our national expertise will create a strong team and bring new opportunities to this expanding market."
"Grupo Scanda has an excellent reputation in the Mexican software market, and is well placed to serve the swelling numbers of firms embarking on e-commerce," said Steve Jeffery, president and CEO of Clarus. "With its experience and significant resources in this important market, Qarta will help Clarus provide the best solutions for Mexico's e-commerce innovators."
