New York June 26, 2001 PartMiner Inc., a supplier of electronic components and a provider of content and technology services to the electronics industry today announced the sale of its PartMiner CSD, Inc. (collaborative sourcing and design) software business to Manugistics Group Inc. Financial terms were not disclosed.
PartMiner acquired the CSD business in December 1999 as part of its acquisition of IQXpert from IHS Group, Inc. IQXpert owned both the CSD business and the CAPSXpert database of electronic components. The sale of the CSD business to Manugistics did not include the database, now called the PartMiner Parts Database.
PartMiner is claiming that the sale of its CSD business will allow the company to focus on its primary capabilities as an electronics components supplier. "The sale of the PartMiner CSD business was a strategic opportunity for both PartMiner and Manugistics," said Dan Nissanoff, CEO of PartMiner, "PartMiner has gained by narrowing its focus to businesses in which we have the most expertise."
