Exel selects G-Log to provide logistic infrastructure support

London November 16, 2001 Supply chain solution provider Exel has tapped G-Log to support the development of the next generation of Exel's Supply Chain Integrator (SCI) technology.

Exel's "ePL" business strategy is to leverage Internet technology to meet the challenges of globalization while enabling higher levels of customer service by providing greater visibility, quicker response to inventory movements and lowered logistics costs. G-Log's technology solution will enable Exel to offer additional supply chain event management functionality.

"G-Log's technology will enhance our supply chain management services from planning to execution worldwide," said Martin Neil, e-commerce director at Exel.

Exel says that its SCI system provides visibility from source to supply and allows customers to reduce stockholding, optimize transportation and improve customer service. With Exel leveraging G-Log's technology, Exel says its customers will be able to plan shipments while they are in-transit, receive proactive shipment status notification and re-plan shipments if necessary, all in real time via the Internet.

"We are pleased to expand our business further with Exel and are looking forward to supporting Exel at this time in its global growth," said Mitch Weseley, chief executive officer of G-Log.
