Print-on-demand paper company selects software for integrated business operations

Pittsburgh, PA January 22, 2002 When the Minneapolis-based Holmberg Co., a converter of paper for the growing print-on-demand industry, decided to improve its sales, marketing, customer service and manufacturing operations, it turned to Adonix and its X3 enterprise software to do so.

"Our first priority is to upgrade our customer service by improving our shop floor control and inventory management with the Adonix system. Our current systems don't have the capabilities to provide real time manufacturing and inventory information," said Rich Greig, Holmberg's director of operations. "Adonix's functionality will help us reduce operating costs and improve customer service by providing current information on stock and custom orders."

Adonix X3, suited for discrete, process and mixed-mode manufacturers and distributors, integrates all business operations functions into one system. It includes modules for manufacturing, sales, customer relationship management, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse management, quality control and accounting. It is specially designed for the make-to-order, configure-to-order, assemble-to-order, make-to-stock and batch manufacturing environments.

In addition, the Adonix X3 enterprise software suite has been rebuilt to give users access to system functions through a standard Web browser. This approach eliminates the need to install software on users' computers and also reduces technical support costs.

"Holmberg will take its first steps in enabling distributors and private label customers to place orders and check order status through our Web site," said Greig. "We will also offer online information about our products and current applications. Adonix has the advanced e-business tools we need to do this in a single well-integrated and affordable enterprise package."

Holmberg, a privately-held company, produces custom index tabs and reinforced, perforated and punched paper specifically designed for print-on-demand electronic publishing systems. It also supplies private-label products to paper manufacturers, office equipment manufacturers and office products distributors.
