San Jose, CA March 14, 2002 Semiconductor solution company Memec Group is using an e-commerce solution from software company SAQQARA Systems to deploy an e-commerce-enabled product catalog on the Web.
Memec is using SAQQARA's CommerceSuite to make its product content fully accessible and available to customers through its global Web site.
The multi-language Memec Web Site consolidates disparate Web sites, and the company is looking to the new site to improve access to relevant, continually updated information across all the company's business divisions, offering a one-stop gateway for manufacturers and customers to search and access product information.
SAQQARA said Memec selected CommerceSuite because the solution has an open Web services architecture and offers a collaborative environment for authoring and publishing online catalogs, allowing Memec to offer its customers and channel partners fast, accurate access to rich product information.
"Now, Memec can give customers the tools they need to make informed buying decisions via a tailored, online experience that effectively and efficiently facilitates job performance," said Sonny Horton, Memec's director of global e-business.
Memec's global Web architecture, of which the new site is a component, debuted in the Americas in late 2001 and is scheduled to be deployed in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Japan and Australia later this quarter.
