San Diego March 15, 2002 Industrial products distributor McJunkin Corp. has signed on to offer point-of-use materials management systems from SupplyPro.
SupplyPro provides a line of Internet-connected supply cabinets that dispense and track inventory at the point-of-use while automating the reordering process. The provider's SupplyPort application allows users to view real-time inventory data via a standard Web browser.
Charleston, W.V.-based McJunkin, an 81-year-old distributor of industrial pipe, valves and fittings, is currently in the process of integrating SupplyPro's product line into its distribution network. Privately held McJunkin operates about 125 branch locations serving customers in the refining, chemical, pulp and paper, and gas distribution industries, among others.
The agreement also provides for the two companies' sales forces to work together, which SupplyPro sees as raising its profile among McJunkin's Fortune 500 customers.
Our customers are becoming more sophisticated in their supply chain needs and the SupplyPro products are a perfect fit with where they want to go, said Rory Isaac, senior vice president of national accounts for McJunkin.
