According to the companies, PeopleSoft's Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions will be integrated with Agile's Product Chain Management (PCM) applications. The combination is meant to give customers the ability to manage the product life cycle from development to end-of-life, including sourcing, production, sales, service and distribution.
PeopleSoft and Agile said the combined solution addresses business processes like new product introduction, product change management and total product cost management. The integrated applications gives suppliers, customers, employees and partners the ability to share information like design adjustments, product changes and customer requirements for new products.
Analogic, a designer and manufacturer of advanced systems and subsystems for major health and security original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), has already integrated the PeopleSoft and Agile applications, bringing together its design-to-acceptance business process.
Thor Wallace, chief information officer of Analogic, said, "Previously, when we received customer feedback and our engineers wanted to alter a product's design or specification, there was no process to rapidly implement changes. By integrating PeopleSoft's and Agile's applications, we synchronize product design and manufacturing to implement change orders instantly. As a result, we've reduced our processing time from days to hours."
