Kimball Names Supply Chain VP

Sourcing veteran tapped to help grow company's contract furniture manufacturing business

Jasper, IN  July 2, 2002  Kimball International has appointed a new vice president for global supply chain management at its flexcel contract furniture manufacturing business, bringing in a global strategic sourcing veteran to assist the company in growing its contract manufacturing business.


Stephen Ashman will lead the company's global supply chain management organization, bringing 20 years of sourcing experience working at companies such as RJR Nabisco, Whirlpool Corp., GE Information Services, Motorola and Lucas Aerospace.


A native of England, Ashman's prior work encompassed the Americas, Europe and Asia.


"We're excited to fill this critical position," said Brent Elliott, president of flexcel and executive vice president of Kimball International. "It's important to our strategic plans and the future growth of our contract manufacturing business."


Ashman came to Kimball from Cardinal Health, in Columbus, Ohio, where he was vice president for corporate procurement.


Kimball International operates a furniture and cabinets business, as well as an electronic contract assemblies business that designs, manufactures and distributes electronic components.
