Marlborough, MA July 15, 2002 In a move to further its work in solving the computer-aided-design (CAD) interoperability issue, Proficiency announced it is partnering with PTC, the product development company. The companies are working together through PTC's Enterprise Software Partner (ESP) program.
According to the companies, the integration of PTC's Pro/ENGINEER with Proficiency's Collaboration Gateway will enable Pro/ENGINEER customers to collaborate more effectively with design team partners who use other CAD platforms. As an ESP program participant, Proficiency will receive access to PTC's development teams and immediately receive new versions of its tool kit applications.
"Large manufacturing [original equipment manufacturers] and their suppliers are increasingly demanding better interoperability between design solutions. Proficiency's Collaboration Gateway was specifically created to address this need. A formal partnership with PTC is an important element in ensuring that Pro/ENGINEER users gain the full benefits of enhanced engineering collaboration," said Scott Berkey, president and CEO of Proficiency.
