Clifton, NJ September 13, 2002 Retailer Linens 'n Things has appointed a new senior vice president of supply chain management, bringing onboard a 25-year veteran of the retail world.
Tony D'Onofrio joins Linens 'n Things from K-Mart, where he was executive vice president of global systems capability and chief supply chain officer. Formerly, D'Onofrio held positions at Procter and Gamble, PepsiCo International and Merck.
At Linens 'n Things, D'Onofrio will report directly to Norman Axelrod, chairman and CEO of the company.
In a statement, Axelrod said: "We are extremely excited to have Tony join our senior management team to lead our supply chain initiatives. I am confident that Tony will help make a measurable and sustainable difference in our merchandise in stock position in every store, everyday."
D'Onofrio started out somewhat afield of supply chain management: he holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and a master's degree in engineering management from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
