Indian Motorcycle Co. selects supply chain process management solution, extends Oracle enterprise functionality

Austin, TX  December 18, 2002  ClearOrbit, a supply chain process management (SCPM) software provider, announced that Indian Motorcycle Co. selected its Gemini Series to extend, automate and control supply chain execution processes. The provider said Indian Motorcycle Co. is a designer and manufacturer of heavyweight motorcycles and a broad range of related products, parts, accessories, riding gear and lifestyle apparel.

Indian Motorcycle Co. said it would use ClearOrbit's Gemini Series to improve the velocity of material flows and provide real-time updates to its enterprise applications.

Phase One of the project will focus on improving receiving, inventory and manufacturing processes, as well as adding Kanban functionality to Indian Motorcycle's existing Oracle 11.0.3 enterprise system.

Phase Two of the project will focus on increasing the efficiency and accuracy of Indian Motorcycle's shipping transactions.

"ClearOrbit's Gemini Series will allow us to implement real-time controls through wireless communications to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our supply chain execution processes," said Frank Wagenseller, vice president of information technologies at Indian Motorcycle Co. "In addition, it will enable us to extend the value of our Oracle enterprise system to meet our requirements for receiving, inventory, manufacturing, and Kanban functionality."

ClearOrbit said it has over 300 Oracle Applications customers using this robust supply chain execution solution.
