Atlanta February 14, 2003 Nissan North America has tapped Viewlocity to provide solutions for supplier performance management and supply chain event management, according to an announcement today from Viewlocity.
Nissan initially will deploy the Viewlocity solutions in its parts and service operations, involving distribution centers, cross-docking locations, vehicle processing centers and logistics service providers.
"Companies with world-class supply chains like Nissan are increasingly looking to make their aftermarket and service parts operations more efficient," said Jeffrey Simpson, CEO of Viewlocity. "Our supply chain event management solutions are a natural fit in this area and we are glad to have the opportunity to work with Nissan on this initiative."
Atlanta-based Viewlocity is the recently renamed result of last September's three-way merger of SynQuest, Viewlocity and fellow software provider Tilion, which offered Internet-based event management solutions for logistics and supply chain managers.
Nissan North America was a pre-merger SynQuest customer for supply chain planning solutions. (See related story.)
