Plano, TX — April 2, 2003 — Management consultancy A.T. Kearney, a subsidiary of EDS, has signed up Nextel Communications to provide wireless communication products and services to its managed purchasing consortium.
Nextel will become part of the Leveraged Sourcing Network (LSN), an A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions purchasing consortium. A second wireless communications supplier is expected to be named in the future to provide network members a choice based on specific coverage, technology, network and enterprise needs.
A.T. Kearney says that LSN is a consortium of Global 1000 companies representing multiple industries. In return for an annual fee, members receive financial benefit through pre-negotiated frame agreements.
"We believe that Nextel's unique focus on the corporate enterprise market will serve our consortium members well," said Jim Pearson, A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions vice president.
"Our relationship with the A.T. Kearney Leveraged Sourcing Network is an exciting opportunity for us to grow our customer base, which already includes four out of five Fortune 500 companies," said Nextel's Susan Nelson, vice president for alliances and partners.
