Dallas — April 10, 2003 — The viaLink Co., a provider of e-commerce services to the retail and CPG industries, reported today that supermarket chain Harris Teeter would use viaLink's data synchronization and supply chain services to enable suppliers to improve communication between their stores and their suppliers.
Harris Teeter will be able to apply the full spectrum of viaLink's services to its supply chain operations, from basic commerce-level synchronization of data to scan based trading and viaLink invoicing services. In addition, viaLink will serve as Harris Teeter's agent for UCCnet.
Harris Teeter Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ruddick Corp., is a regional supermarket chain with 142 stores, serving an expanding market in six states. The company, headquartered in Matthews, N.C., is the 39th largest supermarket chain in the United States.
