Pleasanton, CA — April 24, 2003 — Commerce One has announced that Hy-Vee, a grocery and drug retailer that operates more than 200 stores in seven Midwestern states, is using Commerce One's Xpress Messenger for Retailers software to support the value of its UCCnet implementation. The Xpress Messenger for Retailers solution, a component of the Commerce One Xpress Suite, is a solution to help retailers benefit from UCCnet's data synchronization services.
As an UCCnet Preferred Alliance Partner, Commerce One said it offers products and services that provide the foundation for the development of collaborative supply chain processes, particularly by providing a flexible UCCnet implementation methodology to retailers.
Hy-Vee said the provider's software has allowed it to quickly participate in UCCnet with minimal impact on current catalog and ordering systems. By synchronizing item data with suppliers via UCCnet, Hy-Vee said it could receive updated product information in real time and reduce item catalog errors. In a matter of hours, Hy-Vee explained that it was able to receive, review and validate item data from a variety of manufacturing clients. Also, promoting item data to UCCnet's GLOBALregistry happened in days, rather than the months it can take using other solutions.
"We chose Commerce One Xpress Messenger because it proved to be cost effective, quick to implement and offered straightforward training allowing us to quickly benefit from UCCnet data synchronization services in a way that supports our existing business practices," said Mark McQuistan, assistant vice president Technology Services, Hy-Vee.
Andy Hayden, senior vice president of Global Services at Commerce One, said Commerce One has had success working with manufacturers in the CPG industry to help them achieve rapid UCCnet implementation, and the company is proud to deliver its first solution for retailers.
