Palo Alto, CA — April 30, 2003 — Technology infrastructure company Enterasys Networks is set to use a supply chain execution solution from Valdero in a bid to improve its inventory management and the overall performance of its extended supply chain while by leveraging its existing SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Based in Andover, Mass., Enterasys, with $484.8 million in sales last year, provides a variety of networking products and services to enterprise customers around the world.
The company plans to launch a multinational, worldwide implementation of Valdero's supply chain execution solution immediately, integrating its key contract manufacturing locations in the United States, Ireland and Taiwan. Eventually, Enterasys expects to gain real-time visibility across 15 global locations, including all contract manufacturers, second-tier suppliers and distributors of finished goods.
Valdero says its solution will provide real-time visibility for Enterasys by combining information from the high-tech company's SAP system with data from the enterprise's contract manufacturing partners. Enterasys is looking to present its executives with a personalized, always-on view of supply and demand information within and outside the company's four walls, enabling them to run the enterprise's supply chain by exception.
"After extensive competitive research, Enterasys chose Valdero because of their supply chain expertise, quick implementation and time to benefit, as well as the complementary fit into our existing SAP environment," said Ray Hunt, executive vice president for supply chain management at Enterasys. "Valdero is the only product on the market that offers what we need now."
"Manufacturers are looking for solutions that can be delivered in as little as three months and do not require the replacement of existing system investments," said S. Singh Mecker, Valdero's president and CEO. "Valdero's solution leverages Enterasys' existing investments in SAP, allowing them to achieve meaningful benefits in a very short period of time."
