CNA Selects Printcafe

Chicago insurance company taps procurement solution to drive global print spend management strategy

Pittsburgh — May 9, 2003 — Insurance company CNA Financial has signed up to use a procurement solution from Printcafe to drive its global print spend management strategy.

Based in Chicago, CNA is the fourth largest U.S. commercial insurance writer, the 11th largest property and casualty company, and the 51st largest life insurance company.

The company's agreement to use Printcafe's EnterpriseSite follows the successful completion of a pilot program in December 2002.

The EnterpriseSite solution is designed to give procurement professionals greater visibility into, and control over, their print procurement expenditures. Print buyers and project managers use automated tools to generate project specifications, request and approve quotations, select vendors, centrally manage print jobs and collaborate with suppliers online.

Printcafe said that by automating the print procurement process, CNA will gain greater control over the procurement of printed materials across its entire enterprise, thereby enabling cost savings and productivity improvements.

CNA joins such other companies as Cingular Wireless, Merrill Lynch, AOL Time Warner, General Motors and Commonwealth Bank of Australia in using Printcafe's print spend management and e-procurement technologies.
