Chicago — May 15, 2003 — A-K maskiner AS, one of Norway's distributors of agricultural equipment, has chosen IFS Applications as its standard business solution. A-K maskiner said it would implement IFS solutions for sales and marketing, logistics, service management, and financial management. The agreement includes licenses, implementation and maintenance valued at approximately US $1 million.
The IFS solution will support A-K maskiner's supply chain, according to the distributor, from importing of agricultural equipment to sales and service via a nationwide network of 52 sales units. The solution will also handle repair shops and sales of used equipment, which the company said accounts for significant part of its business operations.
Truls Skalmerud, president of A-K maskiner, explained, "We were looking for a comprehensive, integrated standard system that would cover all the elements in our supply chain. One of our critical assessment criteria was the vendor's business and industry competence and its ability to understand our business. Another central issue for us was to determine the potential profits that would result from implementing integrated business applications. The IFS team scored very high on these points, which tipped the balance in favor of IFS Applications."
Kjell Arne Andersen, president of IFS Norway, said other customers in this segment include Jordan, Modus Media, Felleskj¿pet Rogaland Agder, Johnson Pump, the Hexagon Group and Unitor."
