Minneapolis, MN — May 22, 2003 — Solution provider Zomax Inc. this week announced that H&R Block has again selected Zomax to be its supply chain services provider for its complete line of retail software solutions. The solution for the 2003 tax season builds on the services provided in 2002, which helped H&R Block achieve success with its popular TaxCut tax preparation software.
H&R Block said Zomax was selected based on its expertise in managing H&R Block's end-to-end supply chain including material sourcing, media production, final product assembly, direct-to-store fulfillment and returns processing. To ensure a successful launch for the retail season, Zomax produced millions of software packages, assembled thousands of point-of-purchase displays and distributed to thousands of retail locations across the United States.
"Our partnership with Zomax is a critical component in helping us successfully bring our products to market," said Sabrina Wiewel, H&R Block's general manager of software sales and marketing. "Their services enable us to provide just-in-time inventory levels to our channel partners, allowing us to focus our resources on developing and marketing our software."
Zomax used several of its production and fulfillment facilities to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective solution for H&R Block, according to the provider. The integrated Zomax enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, combined with other technologies including a full suite of electronic data interchange (EDI) capabilities, helped support order management and information exchange.
"We are pleased to have been a part of the successful retail launch and season for H&R Block in 2002 and look forward to another great year working together," said Michael Miller, Zomax executive vice president of Sales, Marketing and Business Development.
