University of Louisville and University of Maryland, Baltimore to expand use of provider's software

Pleasanton, CA — July 2, 2003 — Application software provider PeopleSoft Inc. today announced that long-time customers, University of Louisville and University of Maryland, Baltimore, expanded their suites of PeopleSoft applications in the second quarter of 2003. University of Louisville licensed new Human Capital Management (HCM) modules, Resume Processing and eRecruit Manager Desktop; and the University of Maryland, Baltimore, purchased PeopleSoft's Enterprise Portal.

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), said it would add the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal to its suite of PeopleSoft Human Resource and Financials applications. The portal will act as an online gateway to administrative information that users can personally customize.

University of Louisville selected its latest HCM applications to augment its PeopleSoft student and administrative systems. PeopleSoft said its eRecruit Manager Desktop would help the school's hiring managers search job pools, screen applicants, perform background checks and manage job postings via the Internet. PeopleSoft Resume Processing is expected to shorten the time it takes the University to process and respond to resumes.

"Our relationship with PeopleSoft extends beyond its solutions for colleges and universities and centers on the trust it has built throughout the industry," said Dr. Peter Murray, vice president for information technology and chief information officer, University of Maryland, Baltimore. "When undertaking a major change in academic and business processes, strong partnerships are essential. We value our partnership with PeopleSoft and appreciate the investment they have made in higher education."

Tom Sawyer, assistant vice president for information technology at University of Louisville, said, "Our institution moved forward with the purchase of additional PeopleSoft applications to expand upon the rich functionality our students, faculty and staff have come to expect with PeopleSoft."
