To extend order management capabilities to replenish customer warehouse items
Redwood City, CA, and West Springfield, MA — July 28, 2003 — Demand chain management software provider Comergent Technologies Inc., and Profile Systems Inc., e-commerce product data and supply chain management solutions developer, today announced they have signed a partnership agreement to jointly identify and pursue new business opportunities.
The agreement outlines plans to engage in joint marketing and sales activities, particularly in the automotive and industrial manufacturing industries. Kent Allen, research director, Aberdeen Group, said his firm's recent survey research indicated that the market could expect accelerated convergence between supply chain management and order management-centric demand chain management offerings. "This is a logical pairing for both companies since they offer complementary extensions of each other's product lines," he said.
He added that extending Comergent's order management capabilities to automatically replenish customer warehouse items with the Profile Systems' vendor managed inventory solution gives manufacturers functional integration for which many of them have been waiting.

As part of the strategic partnership agreement Comergent will have the ability to resell Profile Systems' ProSAIM product line software, which automates inventory replenishment.
