Deal to provide value to customers that need to work with scanned images in conjunction with their general design automation needs
ROCKVILLE AND BALTIMORE, MD August 5, 2003IDEAL.com has partnered with Avatech Solutions to bring its entire line of scanning solutions to Avatech's government, education and commercial customers. Avatech, a provider of design automation and PLM solutions for the manufacturing, building design, and engineering markets, has been granted a US-wide authorization to provide IDEAL/Contex large format scanners and complimentary software as a part of their single-source solutions offerings.

A Full-Range Of Scanning Solutions
Avatech will offer the full series of large format monochrome and color scanners by IDEAL/Contex. In addition, they will offer complimentary software including WiseImage, which brings scanned drawings directly into AutoCADR and provides raster cleanup, CAD-style raster editing and raster-to-vector conversion of lines, arcs, circles, text, hatch, line styles and symbols. PlanTracer software converts raster floor plans or 2D AutoCAD floor plans into intelligent 3D Autodesk Architectural DesktopT objects automatically and/or semi-automatically. Consistent Software develops both PlanTracer and WiseImage products. For their government customers, Avatech will work through IDEAL.com who is also an authorized GSA partner for government procurement.
