Transplace Acquires SCO Logistics

Acquisition adds chemical focus to 3PL's portfolio

Dallas — April 6, 2011 — Transplace, a provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, has acquired SCO Logistics, a Philadelphia-based logistics services company focused on chemical industry needs and requirements. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Transplace generates revenue in excess of $800 million from approximately 650 customers.

"We are adding the experience of SCO Logistics in the chemical arena to our broad range of industry verticals that includes manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and retail," said Tom Sanderson, Transplace president and CEO. "Acquiring SCO Logistics leverages our significant investment in building transportation management systems and our Lean Six Sigma capabilities."
