Linde Completes Implementation of Arkieva Supply Chain Planner

Gases and engineering company will use it manage distribution, energy procurement, and plant production.

Wilmington, DEMay 14, 2014Arkieva, the designer and provider of  a suite of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) software tools for manufacturing companies, announced the successful implementation of its software solution for The Linde Group’s North American operations. Arkieva Supply Planner will support all of Linde’s global supply chain operations.

The Linde Group, headquartered in Munich, Germany, is a world leader in the international gases market and offers a wide range of compressed and liquefied gases and chemicals used in a huge variety of industries. Products from Linde are used in the energy sector, steel production, chemical processing, environmental protection, as well as in food processing, glass production, and electronics. The company is also a leading global player in the development of environmentally friendly hydrogen technology.

“Prior to implementing Arkieva software we were using disparate models that would optimize one part of the supply chain, but not another,” said Robert Brown, head-supply chain planning at Linde North America.

“We really appreciated the ability of Arkieva when we were able to create a model that brings together three major components of our operations: production, energy cost, and distribution,” added Brown.

Arkieva Supply Planner gathers data from five unique sources to manage costs and keep supply aligned with corporate objectives in the face of rapid change. The ability to quickly create profit-driven supply scenarios for contingency planning in a sandbox environment is a key feature of the Arkieva Supply Planner.
