Danielle Shuey, VP of delivery at Loadsmart, was named one of Food Logistics' and Supply & Demand Chain Executive's 2024 Women in Supply Chain award winners in the Rising Stars category.

Shuey maintains over 13 years of experience in the supply chain industry, with a career history that includes expat assignments abroad in Asia and senior leadership roles across several organizations in the industry.

Shuey entered the workforce by taking on a few different discovery roles, including as a temp in Washington, D.C., with the aspiration of entering the non-profit and political sector. After some time, she eventually became a nanny but ultimately moved back to her hometown of Charleston, S.C., to pursue new opportunities.

It was then that she somewhat "fell” into logistics by accident, where she's led global teams, scaled new business units, and built scalable infrastructure to support customers and teams along the way.

Shuey sat down with Sarah Barnes-Humphrey, founder of Let's Talk Supply Chain podcast and Blended Pledge program, both presenting sponsors of the Women in Supply Chain award, to discuss what "falling into" the industry has taught her and how working in a male-dominated industry has challenged her to advocate not just for herself, but also for others.
