“Bob felt Mark-It was the best combination of culture and fit to continue Spirit’s history of outstanding service for its customers and remarkable employee satisfaction that has led to best-in-class retention levels of drivers and office personnel,” says Tony Apa, president and founder of Mark-It. “With the Spirit strategic acquisition, our satellite terminals in Detroit, Kansas City and several drop lots in the Chicago area used to park power units, containers and chassis will have significantly increased capacity to service our customers and reduce their costs by having equipment closer to their needs and lowering their overall fuel and labor costs.”

According to Apa, his customers are demanding more capacity and, with the high level of technology deployed in his operations, Mark-It has become very efficient and successful in recruiting and keeping drivers. The company’s technology capabilities include real-time tracking and reporting of container locations, instant proof of delivery capability and customer  online portal access to time- sensitive data and information on their freight.

With a combined total of 175 trucks, Mark-It will be able to provide additional capacity and enhanced solutions to drive value for customers, drivers and supply chain partners.
