Collaboration Might Receive Boost from Unlikely Source

Travel qualms could result in increased online collaboration

San Mateo, CA September 18, 2001 Online collaboration, which allows companies to manage far-flung operations and collaborate on projects without physically bringing members of a team together, might have received a boost from a very unwelcome source: last week's attacks. With airline travel being so severely affected, both in tangible airport slowdowns or closings, as well as intangible psychological effects, some experts are forecasting that online collaboration will gain market strength.

iManage, which provides e-business content and collaboration management software, today announced the addition of Valtech, an international consulting firm specializing in SCM (supply chain management), CRM (customer relationship management), e-business and EAI (enterprise application integration), to its list of customers using the iManage WorkSite application suite.

Valtech selected iManage WorkSite to provide a secure space for its disparate teams to collaborate, streamline project management and increase productivity. The iManage WorkSite application suite will supply Valtech with document management, collaboration, enterprise portal, and workflow capabilities in an integrated solution.

Initially, Valtech will implement iManage WorkSite internally and with its consultants, then plans to extend customized access to its partners, customers and contractors in the near future.

"We were looking for a collaborative content management solution that would bring information and teams together in a secure environment," said Olivier Cavrel, vice president of European operations for Valtech. "The iManage WorkSite suite brought together everything we needed in one place document management, collaboration, portal and workflow."

"With the iManage WorkSite application suite, Valtech will have no trouble realizing its goals of increasing productivity by increasing communication between its in-house team and its consultants," said Patrick Baudoin, vice president EMEA for iManage. "We look forward to helping Valtech extend the benefits of iManage WorkSite to its customers and vendors when the time is right."
