LLamasoft Releases Desktop Data Productivity Tool

New Data Guru software bridges the gap between big data and business intelligence

Ann Arbor, Mich.Dec. 6, 2013LLamasoft, a global provider of supply chain design software solutions, announces the release of Data Guru, a desktop data productivity tool that enables business analysts and supply chain modelers to connect to all of their different data sources in a single window, apply transforms in a visual interface, and publish the resulting intelligence to any application or reporting environment, including LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru.

Data Guru is application targeted at bridging the gap between the mountains of big data that companies are able to collect from enterprise resource planning (ERP) and data warehouses, and downstream business intelligence applications.

Previous attempts at creating intelligent middleware data connectors focused on information technology (IT) users or database architects. Data Guru focuses on bringing the power of data transformation, SQL and in-memory databases to the business analyst, and putting them to work solving difficult data problems in an easy-to-use visual environment. Data Guru uses patent-pending technology from the gaming industry and embeds it in a business-oriented application, bringing the possibility of creating intelligent, repeatable data connectors to the business user.

Gerry Rogers, vice president of the global supply chain for Nike, explained, "By giving supply chain analysts a simplified way to access and leverage enterprise data, Data Guru is helping Nike more quickly model business scenarios and develop our supply chain design center of excellence."

"Our customers consistently rate 'data problems' as their number-one obstacle to success in optimizing their supply chains. We think this may be the game-changer that business analysts have been searching for," notes LLamasoft CEO Don Hicks.
