Cordless telephone manufacturer to use Catalyst kit to integrate passive RFID technology into its supply chain
Milwaukee, WI — August 30, 2005 — Supply chain execution (SCE) solutions provider Catalyst International is implementing its CatalystCommand iRFID software for Uniden America Corp., a manufacturer of cordless telephones, to ensure its compliance with radio frequency identification (RFID) requirement mandates set by Wal-Mart and Best Buy.
CatalystCommand iRFID is technology that integrates passive RFID technology into the supply chain environment.
Uniden selected Catalyst after an RFID site assessment that demonstrated the company's RFID experience and project methods. Uniden said the RFIDConfigure* QuickStart kit is a preconfigured, bundled solution, plus scalable services for design, testing, implementation and support.
"Catalyst presented a complete RFID solution backed up by real-world installations and experience," said George Brown, vice president of Operations for Uniden. "Catalyst was a logical RFID choice because of its project management ability and track record of delivering scalable RFID solutions."
Catalyst said the RFID QuickStart kits are pre-configured to meet RFID compliance mandates in different markets, including Europe, and in different supply chain environments. The kits can be installed by customers or fully implemented by Catalyst.
Michael Eleftheriou, president and CEO of Catalyst, said, "We introduced the Catalyst RFID QuickStart kit offerings earlier this year to enable companies to quickly become compliant with Retail and the Department of Defense RFID mandates. We are pleased that Uniden has selected Catalyst and our bundled RFID solution for this
project."
