Supplyframe announced 60% growth in new customers using SamacSys DesignSense services in the past six months, launched powerful feature enhancements, and dramatically increased global engineering community engagement with electronic Component Search Engine, the industry’s most trusted provider of free schematic symbols, printed circuit board (PCB) footprints, and 3D models.

“SamacSys has enjoyed great momentum since joining Supplyframe in 2019 to advance our mission of making it easier for engineers to do their jobs, and enable suppliers to harness design cycle intelligence to better understand their customer needs and where their markets are going,” said Alex MacDougall, founder of SamacSys, a Supplyframe company. “Our new customer wins, expanded capabilities, and mounting user registrations are evidence of that momentum.”

Among the new customers Supplyframe announced is Nexperia, the first global semiconductor market leader to embed the DesignSense Model delivery process in its online part catalog and related technical content. Nexperia chose DesignSense Models – the gold standard for immediate, single-step ECAD model integration.

“By making dedicated directories with previews of our product models directly available within our online sales experience, we are able to provide design engineers with the digital assets they need, at the exact moment they need them. This makes the design process far more efficient and helps engineers make better decisions early in the design cycle,” said Edwin van de Merbel, head of global digital marketing at Nexperia.

Harwin, a leading provider of high-performance connector technology, was attracted to the ability to host and syndicate 3D models across a wide range of relevant websites and partners. DesignSense enables Harwin to offer high-fidelity component models with PCB footprints across its broad array of connectors for multiple industry applications. This automation saves engineers hours of time and effort by eliminating error-prone, manually intensive model creation activity for each part or assembly.

Traco Power, a power supply systems company, is leveraging SamacSys' extensive syndication across the Supplyframe Media network and deep integration with the world's top distribution websites to provide digital design assets to its customers and prospects. Traco Power was also keen to add its sophisticated 3D models to the SamacSys library, bridging the gap between electrical and mechanical engineering design collaboration.

Supplyframe continues to innovate with its DesignSense and Models solutions. One of its key initiatives for 2020 has offered engineers even more convenience and time savings through the pre-alignment of 3D models with their corresponding PCB footprints. The company has seen a 120% increase in daily model downloads since 2019. SamacSys also has invested heavily in on-demand model creation, providing the ability for engineers to request previously unavailable, CAD-ready solutions and receive them within a few hours.

“The DesignSense Models icon is becoming recognized as the industry standard for PCB and 3D models similar to how PDFs are associated with component datasheets,” added MacDougall.

The company has also redesigned and expanded the capabilities of its Component Search Engine via Supplyframe APIs to allow for enhanced integration across the entire Supplyframe component network, which now covers more than 600 million components. The content enrichment, new features, and page enhancements have led to a 78% increase of verified registered users since last year. And verified engineer registrations on the Component Search Engine have gone up nearly 68% this year compared to 2019.
