Epicor Software Corporation announced that its DocStar product line has released a new DocStar Enterprise Content Management (ECM) connector for ArcGIS. DocStar ECM for ArcGIS is the conduit for organizations to connect Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial information and related documents accessible in real-time via an interactive map. Users can easily access GIS layers and features in the cloud and on-premises, while instantly displaying GIS maps, data, and documents.

ArcGIS is a leading mapping and location analytics platform, developed by Esri and used by organizations to create, manage, share, and analyze spatial data. Esri, founded as the Environmental Systems Research Institute, is the global leader in GIS spatial information. In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Esri has initiated a disaster response hub that provides maps, datasets, applications, and additional information on the disease.

“The DocStar platform is a game-changer for organizations that want easy-to-use access to documents as part of their GIS toolset,” said David Hansen, chief executive officer of GEO Jobe, an Esri Gold Partner and a leading provider of ArcGIS solutions. “Our customers are leveraging the power of GIS technology to become more efficient and make better business decisions. DocStar complements this by linking GIS maps and data. Since it can be deployed both on-premises and in the cloud, we believe it’s well-positioned in the ArcGIS Marketplace.”

As the remote workforce grows, DocStar ECM for ArcGIS enables users to access documents from virtually any location, saving time and enhancing efficiency. The solution also allows users to find documents related to a location by simply clicking on a map and search for documents using a combination of geometry or text content.

“Our new connector greatly simplifies document retrieval and management for organizations using ArcGIS,” said Greg Cooke, senior director, sales, DocStar ECM. “For example, a company that owns and operates mobile cell phone towers can click on a tower location on a map and see all the documents related to that location, such as equipment specifications, service and repair orders, schematics and the like. A building owner can review assets from the top of the building to the subterranean level and download related documents in either a PDF or the native format. This tool helps organizations make more immediate and informed data-driven decisions.”
