Eveready Expands RedPrairie Relationship

Sees cost savings, performance benefits at centralized load control center

Tempe, AZ February 25, 2003 Eveready Battery, a subsidiary of Energizer Holdings, reported this week that it has seen increasing and measurable freight cost savings and performance benefits through its continuing and expanded utilization of a transportation management system from solution provider RedPrairie.

RedPrairie's DLx Transportation solution is powering Eveready's centralized corporate load center, based in Westlake, Ohio. Eveready has been a RedPrairie TMS client since April 2001, beginning on a subscription program for the TMS as hosted by Eveready and tailored to the needs of its business.

Eveready has since expanded its relationship with the solution provider, exercising its option to acquire a perpetual software license for the RedPrairie TMS in September 2002. Eveready also acquired a license for RedPrairie's DLx Tracker, a Web portal that enables Eveready's customers to track order status online.

To date, RedPrairie says that Eveready has met or exceeded its savings objectives through use of RedPrairie's TMS in managing its network of distribution centers and contract packagers for its time-critical less than truckload (LTL), truckload (TL) including multi-stop TL, optimized TL and LTL bundling programs and parcel.

David Gomski, corporate manager of domestic transportation for Eveready, said, "The RedPrairie TMS has been a vital part of our success in significantly improving our freight costs and service levels."
