On the first day of IBM Think 2018, the company unveiled the "worlds smallest computer."
The computer is comparable to a grain of salt in size and has a similar computing power to the x86 chip from the 1990's. It will cost less than 10 center to operate and will pack hundreds of thousands transitors to monitor, analyze, communicate and act on data.
The small computer will specifically be a data source for blockchain applications. It'll help track the shipment of goods and detect theft and fraud.
IBM researchers are currently testing the computers first prototype. It is unknown when it will be released to the public.
